You ask, we answer. This section will contain useful tips on preparing for the trip and information on the organizational issues of the tour.
Is it possible to pay in foreign currency in Armenia?
Only the national currency is accepted in Armenia. You can take rubles, dollars or euros with you and exchange them for drams upon arrival, then you will be able to make payments without hindrance. Almost all exchange offices are open around the clock, and banks close at 17:00.
What clothes should you take with you?
Armenia is a mountainous country, and the climate may vary depending on the region, altitude and landscape. The routes of our excursions are very diverse and include southern and northern directions, ascents to the mountains and stops by the lake. Therefore, we recommend taking clothes for cooler weather than what is expected according to the forecast in Yerevan, as well as comfortable shoes, since you will have to walk a lot.
How does cellular communication and the Internet work here?
Roaming works perfectly in Armenia. Towers with high-speed Internet are located in cities. Almost all restaurants and cafes have free Wi-Fi, the staff will provide you the password. Also, if you want, you can buy a SIM card from a local provider.
Do you need a Covid-19 vaccination certificate to enter?
To enter the territory of the Republic of Armenia, a certificate confirming a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 or a certificate confirming a full vaccination against COVID-19 is NOT REQUIRED.
What documents do you need to enter Armenia?
Check if you need a visa directly on the Armenian MFA website.
For each child, regardless of age, you need to have a valid passport and a birth certificate — a document confirming relationship with a legal representative.

Guys, GoToArmenia, thank you so much, we had a blast! I was visiting with a friend and we both loved everything. Mountains, wine and people really gave us the best impressions, the strongest emotions, and we visited so many great sights and restaurants, wineries. The tour is very well-made, it strikes the perfect balance between recreation and cultural aspect. I’m glad we made it to Khor Virap, we really wanted it to be part of the tour.

We didn’t choose a tour beforehand, we traveled on a whim, actually. We just want to go somewhere, and Armenia seemed a good option because the flight would be short, the weather would be good and we wouldn’t need a visa, we only had to pass a Covid test. We liked that the tour name had words like “wine” and “mountains”, and also we wanted a tour that would have nature and tastings, not only churches and museums. Conveniently, we didn’t have to rent a car, because we were taken from and to Yerevan for excursions. Those were fun, and the guide told us plenty of cool stories. There’s a lot to see and even more to try in Armenia.

This was a family & friends trip for us, so our group had an advantage in numbers. It’s good that the groups aren’t large, it’s especially important for the logistics. We were all happy with the organization of our tour. There was enough time to see the main sights and to relax at tasting and dinner in restaurants. The Tushpa winery had excellent wine, I recommend everyone to get it. The bottles are heavy, but it’s worth it.
