Armenia is one of the few countries with drinkable water supplies. Strolling in Armenian cities, you can easily spot pasersby drinking from these drinkable water fountains – poulpoulaks. The first-time travelers get surprised and often re-ask if it’s allowed to drink water from the fountains. Of course, it is: as here in Armenia the tap water is clean and very tasty. The most famous of these unique fountains is located in the very heart of Yerevan – at the Republic Square – and is called “Seven Springs”. It was built back in 1965 and has so far become one of the symbols of the city.
